Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of the TableTop Forge software and the binary builds — the release zip and the Android APK — distributed from forge.giantmushroom.studio. By downloading, installing, or running any of those builds you agree to the rules below. If you don't, please don't use them.
1. The software is free for your table
You may download the published release zip and the companion Android APK and run them on your own machine, your own home network, or anywhere else you control, for personal or campaign use. There is no licence fee, no subscription, and nothing phones home.
2. The one rule
Do not redistribute the published builds. The release zip, the Android APK, and any other binary or installable artefact published from this website may not be re-uploaded, re-hosted, or re-distributed anywhere else — including (but not limited to) other download mirrors, app stores, file-share sites, GitHub release pages that aren't this project's own, torrent indexes, or paid bundles.
Linking to the download page on this site is fine. Mirroring the download itself is not.
The reason: a single canonical download means everyone gets the latest security and content fixes, and there's no confusion about which build is "real" if someone reports an issue. Stale or modified mirrors break that loop.
3. Source code
The source code on GitHub is published as a reference and for transparency, but is not currently placed under a permissive open-source licence. The terms above (rule 2 in particular) apply to compiled or packaged outputs of that source as well. If you'd like to do something the GitHub repo doesn't expressly allow — fork it for an unrelated project, ship a paid wrapper, etc. — please reach out first.
4. Plugins and content packs
TableTop Forge ships a plugin system. Plugins you author yourself are yours. Plugins you load from third parties are governed by whatever terms those third parties attach. The host application doesn't claim ownership of any plugin code or imported content (creature stat blocks, spell entries, custom races / backgrounds / classes you've authored).
5. SRD content
The bundled spell, monster, and rules content originates from the Wizards of the Coast 2014 SRD (5.1, OGL 1.0a) and the 2024 SRD (5.2, CC‑BY‑4.0), accessed via the Open5e project. Their licences flow through to anyone using TableTop Forge. If you publish a content pack derived from that material, comply with those licences — short version: keep the OGL/CC notices intact and don't claim WotC IP as your own.
6. No warranty
The software is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind — express or implied. The author is not liable for lost data, lost games, lost weekends, or any other damage caused by running the software. You're an adult running a fan tool on your own hardware; please back up what matters.
7. Changes
These terms may be updated as the project grows. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the current revision. Continued use after a revision constitutes acceptance.
